Gregg Servheen

Vice President

Gregg moved to Idaho in 1983 to take a temporary job with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game after getting degrees in wildlife and fisheries sciences and management from the University of Massachusetts and Texas A&M University. Amazed by Idaho from the very start, Gregg stayed in Idaho and with the Department of Fish and Game for 34 years before retiring in 2019. He has worked for wildlife across the state. His experience includes research and recovery efforts of endangered Selkirk caribou, big game management in central Idaho, collaboration with the US Forest Service, working with Idaho’s five different Tribes, land and habitat conservation, salmon and steelhead recovery, restoration, and research, and building wildlife crossings in partnership with the Idaho Department of Transportation. Gregg is a long time big game and upland bird hunter, fly fisherman, backpacker, hiker, camper, and birder. Gregg and his wife Alison live in Boise. He strongly believes all Idahoans are proud stewards of all that make Idaho’s wild and rural character unique. And that Idahoans want to care for our lands, waters, and wildlife so they can be handed to the next generation in as good or better condition for them and their children to enjoy.
