Kilgore Gold Mine Exploration Fieldtrip
Join us on July 21 for a guided tour of the proposed Kilgore Gold Exploration Site with the Greater Yellowstone Coalition. This is a unique opportunity to visit one of the most controversial proposed mining sites in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and see firsthand the spectacular public lands, wildlife habitat, and headwater streams that could be affected by future development.
Along the way, we’ll learn about the proposed open-pit, heap-leach cyanide gold mine, ongoing exploration activities, and what’s at stake for clean water, wildlife, recreation, and the communities that depend on the Centennial Mountains and the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer. Bring a picnic lunch, comfortable walking shoes, and your sense of adventure. We’ll provide the rest as we spend the day exploring one of the wildest corners of East Idaho as we learn what’s at stake for its future. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot!
